Why

Why did I think that buffalo wings after 9pm were a good idea for dinner? As the pregnancy has progressed I have found more and more things that just shouldn't be eaten after a certain hour or more likely at all. At first I thought it was just because I was eating too late. Some nights by the time I get home and we decide what to have for dinner, it is after 8pm and more than I like to admit we either go out or order in. But after I had leftover sesame chicken for lunch, I started realizing the time of day doesn't really matter, some things are just very poor choices. It may just come right back up. Or my favorite, it churns, gets heavier and sits at the bottom of my throat. No amount of Tums seems to help and I have to ride it out. Alex doesn't help either. He usually gets very active during these times as if to say, "Mumma, I really don't like or appreciate what you have just fed me. Get rid of it." When will I learn?

Free form blog

I haven't written a post in a while. Barbie has been keeping everyone up to date, so I haven't felt a pressing need. But I'm bored, so a little update on my life

The blizzard:
About a week ago, we got hammered by the blizzard, I know, old news. Hey, at least I'm not reporting on Anna Nicole Smith. BTW- I realized watching the news coverage of Anna Nicole Smith that 24 hour news TV is straigh up garbage. Worthless.

Anywho...This resulted in an intresting last few says of work. I worked my second to last day of the shift, went to a hotel down the road, got up, got dressed, and went back to work for a nice 17 hour shift. In a 36 Hour period, I spent 28 at work on the clock. Uggh.

Here's me in as Artic Commando Jay©

And here is the parking lot outside work, right around 5 pm. I ended up shoveling the walk every hour just to make sure it kept clean . I felt bad for the plow guy. He never left. He did the front, then the back, then back to the front.

School:

Well, school has been off and on. I got two B's in my last two classes. I really didn't like my programming teacher. Actually, I didn't like the teacher or the class. We covered the most basic programming, it was real boring. Oh, and for our team project, my team dropped the class, so the 5 person assignment became a two person assignment. Did he shorten it? Lessen the requirements? Nope.

Then I got back to the business classes, and the current one is project management. It's actually not too bad. I thought it was pointless, but now I'm actually feeling like I'm learning again. And next is my database class, which should be good.

Well, thats enough for now. I'll try to post something good soon =)

Busy Week

We used our gift cert. to the Samoset this past weekend for a belated Valentines day celebration. We had a great time, except I didn't bring my prego pillow, seeing as it is huge and not the cleanest right now. Huge mistake. I slept horribly, or I should say Jason slept horribly, I didn't sleep. The bed was beautifully made up with feather pillows and comforters, very luxurious, just not if you're 7 months pregnant. We had gotten a package that was for the room and for 2 meals. The deal was that you got 2 salads or chowder, 2 entrees of your choice, 2 desserts and 2 non-alcoholic beverages. We took full advantage by getting the 2 most expensive things on the menu. Jason had the Samoset steak and I had the steamed lobster for a $5 surcharge. Totally worth it. They even picked it for me and brought it out in a little casserole dish already in butter!!! Yummy. The food was fantastic but we were too full for dessert, not to worry though. They packaged it up for us and we brought it home. The next morning we had the buffet at Marcel's which was also very tasty. I didn't realize that we also had a gift cert. for the famous Sunday brunch at Marcel's so we may go back at some point when we feel the need to get away. I think we might be able to find a babysitter or 2. ; )

I had my 28 week OB appt. today with one of the other Dr.s in the group, Dr. Commons. Very nice guy. I will get to meet at least 2 other Dr.s before the end, in case Dr. Shanahan isn't available for the delivery. Alexander is growing quite well and his heart sounds good. I gained 6 lbs. this month, my BP was 128/64, he forgot to tell me how much my belly measured, but it is way bigger. You can even see Alex bumping around in there now. He is very active. All the blood work came back normal, not anemic, no gestational diabetes. Yeah!! My blood glucose was 105, normal is 70-140. I also got my Rh immuglobin shot today so I don't have to worry about that again until after birth. I have been having some lower back and hip pain, all normal, things are just moving around getting ready for the big show. This was my last monthly appt. from now on I go every 2 weeks. Only 11 1/2 weeks until the big arrival!! It's funny to be counting down. : )
