Busy, Busy

This has been a crazy and stressful week. It all started on Monday morning when I realized that I hadn't seen our cat Meeko yet. I figured that she was just hiding on me, still pissed from the night before when she had tried to get out and I threw her back inside. I was thrilled when I got a voicemail from Jason saying to call me back as soon as I got the message thinking he'd found her. Of course I should have known better. He hadn't found her yet, the furnace wasn't working. We don't have a plan with any of the oil places that also fix furnaces so no one wanted to look at it. Thankfully a guy from Patriot Heating was willing to come over. We'd had oil delivered earlier in the day and because it was cold the oil congealed. When it hit the dirty filter nothing came through so the furnace couldn't fire. He cleaned out the filter and now it works beautifully and only charged us $96! What a deal!

When I got home that night I got a flashlight and started looking outside for Meeko, still missing. I was so worried, she was the first pet I got on my own and she's my baby. I called and called for her, looked under the porch and bushes, nothing. Just as I was about to give up and go in to start printing the missing posters, I saw something move. It was her!!! She ran toward me and I hugged her so tight she tried to jump down. We think she must have slipped out when we brought in the last load of groceries. She went right for the food bowls and chowed down, then got up on top of the pantry and slept for almost 3 hours. She looked so grateful to be home!

Thursday started out with a flat tire. Jason had me take his car to work and just as I was coming up over the hill in Lewiston near Sears, I saw blue lights behind me. I pulled over, the officer asked for the usual. I asked him what I'd done because I wasn't really sure. I had no idea how fast I was going and had just gone through a yellow changing to red with probably enough time to stop. The verdict was speeding, he got me at 43 mph in a 25 mph zone! Jason's car has a lot more pep than mine and it doesn't take much to go fast. I gave him my license, but I couldn't find the other stuff. He told me to keep looking, he'd run my numbers and to stick the paperwork out the window when I found it. I was already upset about the tire and not being able to find the paperwork, I hate to admit this, but I cried. I told him about the flat and that this was a car I wasn't used to driving. He came back, told me my license was fine and not to worry about the paperwork. He gave me a verbal warning, told me to keep my speed down and have a nice day. Thank goodness!
