The rest of the story

We had our 20 week ultrasound and prenatal appointment Wednesday. The baby is very healthy but extremely stubborn/modest as Jason posted earlier. Since he covered the hot topic already, I'm going to bore you with stats. The due date is just about right, May 16, 2007, give or take a few days. Baby weighs in at a whopping 13 ounces, they actually didn't calculate the length, not much room left and the baby looked like s/he was doing toe touches. We could see all ten fingers and toes, spine, arm and leg bones all look good. The eye orbits are perfectly shaped, good looking brain : ), four chamber heart, 2 kidneys, a bladder and stomach. Of course there was also the placenta and that dang umbilical cord! The tech asked me if I had just had a bunch of sugar or caffeine because the baby was moving around a lot and she was having a hard time getting clear pictures.

We saw Dr. Shanahan right after, she is very pleased with my progress. I lost another 6 1/2 lbs. and my blood pressure was 102/68!!! I don't think I have ever been healthier! She said my weight loss of 13 1/2 lbs. so far is just fine as the baby is growing, I am not still throwing up, am eating healthy stuff and had plenty of cushion to begin with. The AFP test that they check for down syndrome and another chromosome disorder came back negative. Everything looks great, right now my only problem is that I don't know how I will decorate the nursery! We will keep everyone posted!

It's a....

umbilical cord! Thats right, the umbilical cord was blocking the tech's view. Plus baby Theriault, being a modest soul, closed their legs tight. But something did catch the tech's eye... She thought she saw somthing. She said that there is a 60% chance that its a boy.

I'll post a picture once we have it scanned in(we couldn't take video)
