The first Doctors visit

Today was the day the we have been waiting for. It was our 1st appt with our OB, Dr. Shanahan. She was great and very thorough. I knew that I was pregnant but for it to be really real, I needed to either hear the heartbeat or see the baby. The morning sickness wasn't enough for me. After going through tons of paperwork and questions the Dr. got me ready for the ultra sound. She was right the belly jelly is really cold! She started to probe around and all of a sudden, there was OUR baby on the screen! I know no one will be surprised by this, but I cried. It was so amazing to see that tiny baby hanging out and bouncing around when I laughed. You could see the little heart beating and I really think s/he waved at us. It really is in there! I am 13 weeks and 3 days pregnant, the baby is about 6 cm long and the head is 2.1 cm across. The heart rate was 140-166 beats and we could hear it. I got both, well all 3 things I wanted today, to see the baby, hear the heart beat and know that s/he is doing ok.
