To the vet we go!

We took the kids to the doctor this week. Meeko did not want to go. Between Jason and I, it took 4 tries to get her into the carrier. She's tiny but boy, does she put up a good fight! We both got scratched and covered with cat hair, but we finally succeeded. I think we could have made a whole other cat with the hair she left on us, it just kept coming off! I'm surprised she has any left! Lacey went into her carrier quite easily and we were on our way. They both got weighed and had shots and were very happy to go back into the carriers. Meeko weighed in at a whopping 8.3 lbs. and Lacey at 6.4 lbs. and both got a clean bill of health. I dropped them off at home and picked up Jason and Gizmo for his appointment. We went into the waiting room and there was a big black lab waiting his turn, Gizmo freaked out. I swear he has short man syndrome. He pulled and pulled at his leash to get to the other dog and barked his fool head off. The lab just sat there and kept looking at him like he was crazy and he was probably thinking he could eat Gizmo in one bite. Finally it was our turn, we went in and the vet put Gizmo onto the scale, he was really nervous and it took a few minutes to get an actual reading because he wouldn't stop moving. The vet decided on 11 lbs., that was the average. They also took some blood and gave him 2 shots, he yelped and tried to jump off the table and was very relieved when the whole ordeal was over. Jason took him outside while I was paying the bill. He came in a minute later and asked if they still wanted a fecal sample as we had forgotten to bring one. No problem though, Gizmo had just left one in the parking lot, apparently that is how he relieves his stress!! The receptionist gave Jason a dixie cup and a tongue depressor to collect it. It had just snowed and lets just say that was the grossest frozen treat I have ever seen! We also made an appointment to have Gizmo neutered, only 7 days of manliness left! When we got home, he went straight to bed and took a long nap! Poor baby!
