Where has my baby gone?!

The other day I was looking at Alex and I realized that he is now a full fledged toddler, my baby is growing up! He has made a great transition to the "Toddler Room" at day care. The first few days were rough in the morning when I dropped him off. He is used to going to a room with only 3 or 4 other kids, he was the oldest and Lori was there to give him hugs and snuggles. Now he goes into a room with 12-15 kids, he is the youngest and has no one to snuggle with. It was very hard to leave hearing him crying and calling for me. It felt like the first time I left him at daycare all over again. But each day has gotten better and he is really enjoying himself.
The daycare uses the "Buttercup curriculum" and every quarter they learn/talk about themes, colors, shapes and read several books associated with the themes. This quarter the themes are balls, cars and teddy bears. The colors are red, blue and yellow and the shape is circles. They do a project and go outside every day now, where they only did each once a week in the other room. Alex loves it! When I pick him up he is exhausted, but happy, they keep him so busy he doesn't have time to get into trouble, so no time-outs yet. He is sleeping soundly through the night, going down at about 7:30pm and waking up at about 5:30am. It is great, I love it! I am finally catching up on my sleep!Alex had his 15 month well child check last Monday. He is 16 months old now, so we are a little behind. The Dr. is very pleased with his growth. He is 31.1 inches tall and weighs 23.3 lbs. That puts him in the 50th percentile for height and 25th for weight. At his last visit she was concerned about his weight since he was just over 20lbs., but he has gained about a pound a month since then, so no need for concern. He also got 2 more immunizations, he was not impressed with that. He wasn't happy with the whole situation actually, he kept making breaks for the door. He didn't want to be held and when I put him down he wanted me to pick him up. Next time we won't cut nap time short.
