Home Sweet Home

We have exciting news! On July 18th, if things go as planned, we will be the proud owners of our very first home! We have been looking online since before the wedding and in the last couple of weeks have looked at several houses in Lewiston and the surrounding areas. The first one we looked at was a mobile home in a really pretty park, very much in our price range, had lots of things that we liked, but they didn't allow dogs and you could only have one cat. No way are we going to split up the family! We saw a few houses we really liked, but were at the top of our price range. One place had "some" fire damage, it wasn't disclosed in the listing, so we didn't know until we got there. The realtor explained as we were going through that the current owner was going to put in new windows and floors. Too bad it needed new walls too! The house that we are under contract for is adorable, cozy and perfect for us. We really wanted to move closer to our families, we are only a few miles from my dad and Jason's parents, 25 minutes from my mom and less than 1 mile from my brother and sister. I will have to commute about 30 miles to work now, but I have such a great job that I love, it's totally worth it. The house is in move in condition, but there are some things we can improve upon to increase the value. We plan on this being our starter house and when our family gets too big we'll look for something with more space. The back yard is completely fenced in, Gizmo is very excited about that. I can't wait to do the first load of laundry there, no more saving quarters! Oh, and the icicle lights on the porch are so the first thing coming down.
