Some good, some bad

This has been a long, busy week. I had my 32 week OB appt. on Tuesday. Alex and I are both doing very well. I have gained 3 more lbs., still 3 under where I started, yea! My blood pressure was 120/80, not bad. My belly is still at 30 cm, Dr. Shanahan thinks Alex weighs about 3 1/2 lbs. at this point and he'll keep gaining about 1/2 to 3/4 lb. every week til the end. His heart rate was around 55 BPM. I have been having more and more lower leg cramps at night so she told me to get some tonic water with quinine and to cut it with juice. I have to say it is not the best, I don't like fizzy water, it tastes kind of weird. She also gave me an rx for famotidine, generic pepcid. The heartburn and nausea have been getting worse especially at night and I was taking between 6 and 12 Tums a day and it just wasn't cutting it. Plus she was worried that the extra calcium from the Tums might give me kidney stones. I think it's working already, I haven't woken up with heartburn since I started taking it.

We had a date night Tuesday as well. We went to our favorite Chinese buffet and then to see 300. I had read up on the details before we went, wars are not on the top of my list and I have been out of school for a while. Jason was very excited to see the movie as it is one of his favorite battles of all time. It was a good movie but some of the effects were a little too much for me, very realistic. Ugh. The Persians were very weird too. Thankfully the images from the movie did not follow through to my dreams as most daily occurrences do. Ordinary things become strange and I can't imagine what my head may have come up with after seeing this. Good movie though.

By Thursday I was feeling very run down and more and more nauseated as I got ready for work, all I wanted to do was lie down and pass out. Which is what I did. I slept all day long and felt quite a bit better that night. I got up Friday am and decided I would stay home again, feeling guilty though because I was sure my illness was pregnancy related or due to the new medicine I started Tues. Today I realized that I have the nasty stomach bug that has been going around at work, it isn't pregnancy. So, I have been praying to the porcelain gods and am feeling like the chorus of a Pepto Bismol ad. Oh do I wish I could swig down some of that peppermint pink stuff.
