Adventure, Excitement, A Jedi Jason Craves Not These Things

Well, the fun of the Honey moon was replaced by the fun of school. Ahh, homework, reports, APA formatting, how I have missed thee.

Yup, I am back in school for my masters. Going to the University of Phoenix online. You know, I had my doubts, but so far it is just as much a pain in the … bum…. (keeping it pg) as brick and mortar school.

And I’m aiming to graduate with honors for once.

So far, it’s Managerial Communication, which seems to be Intro to Online School. It’s kinda funny, I was talking to one of my team members online, and she took her BS at Univ of Phoenix, and she says by our third class(about 12 weeks into the program) half of the people were gone. It’s gonna be interesting to see how it holds up.

In case anyone is wondering how it works, it’s kinda neat. You take one class at a time. Each class lasts 6 weeks. You are required to participate at least 2 times a week to not be considered absent. My current class requires 8 posts a week( 2 a day for 4 days), plus reports and a team project.

Everything is run out of private newsgroups and a online library. I have a portable usb drive with Thunderbird on it, so I take all my classwork with me.

So that’s whats up with me.

I realize you don't know me from a hill of beans, but I have been following your blog - congrats on the wedding! I am Ryan Kilgore's Aunt Theresa - making me Will's great aunt. Anywho, I am doing the on-line thing with Phoenix as well, for my doctorate in healthcare admin. I have been enrolled since December 2005 and I love it! Convenient, challenging, thought provoking. Good luck and keep us posted! I should be done - dissertation and all - by May 2009.
